Jack’s continued support for FORCE
A celebrated Devon dining pub has presented another £550 to FORCE.
The Jack in the Green at Rockbeare, now a third of the way into its 25th anniversary year, has so far raised £2,550 for our charity.
The latest amount comes from a birthday party raffle, continued sales of their 176-page cook book and from a new charity beer collaboration with Otter Brewery.
Owner Paul Parnell said: “We feel very passionate about giving back to the local community that supports us and FORCE is a charity close to our heart and one where my wife, Judy, volunteers every week.
“After 10 years of championing the Rugby Association’s Wooden Spoon charity we are now channeling all our energies into FORCE.
“For every Jack Cook Book we sell we donate £5 and for every pint of Otter Brewery’s Summer Light 10p. Also, next month Matt and Aiden have a sponsored 120-mile bike ride around the Tarka Trail and in October my eldest son, Andrew, and I will be running the Great West Half Marathon. Sponsorship forms are behind the bar if you’d like to support us!”
The first £1,000 was presented at Darts Farm in May 2016, the second £1,000 at the pub in March 2017 and the latest £550 to FORCE fundraiser Oly Watts.

We receive all our income from voluntary donations – some of which comes from local businesses. The Jack in the Green have been hugely supportive of FORCE over the years and allowing us to benefit from a combination of donations is something we are so grateful for.
