FORCE works locally to support anyone affected by cancer.

Cancer brings about change in people’s lives and hearing that you or someone close to you has cancer can be a distressing experience. A diagnosis is often accompanied by a range of different emotions which can prove challenging to face alone.

Under normal circumstances, our Support and Information Centre in Exeter is open every weekday, except Bank Holidays, from 9:30am until 4:30pm.

It offers a relaxed and comfortable setting where you can come for information and advice and discuss your needs.

You do not need a referral, which means you can call in when it’s convenient to you.  You can meet other Centre users, talk with our trained volunteers and receive the help and support you need from our professional staff. For more information, read our Support and Advice leaflet.

We also have weekly support available in Okehampton, Tiverton and Honiton and exercise programmes across the county.

Our centres are temporarily closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The risk of transmission of COVID-19 is too high for the group of people we support.
All support services in Okehampton, Tiverton and Honiton have ceased but chemotherapy treatment continues in Okehampton and Honiton.

All services within the Centre and the wider community are funded by FORCE so there is no charge to you.

We work closely with hospital staff involved in the treatment of cancer patients and also have links with other cancer charities which means that if we cannot help immediately we can usually put you in touch with someone who can.

Please take a look at our short film, which explains what is on offer at our Support and Information Centre.

Temporary closure of the FORCE Cancer Support and Information Centre

It is with great regret that FORCE Cancer Charity has temporarily closed its Support and Information Centre in Exeter. We are still offering counselling, support and information on the phone and via video calling but there will be no face to face appointments or groups until further notice.
The decision was taken following the announcement of the first cases of Coronavirus/COVID-19 being treated at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and after consultation with clinical staff at the RD&E Trust. We recognise that this may cause significant upset to our users, but we feel it is the only responsible action at this time.
The FORCE Support and Information Centre is a non-clinical environment and not a priority service in times of acute pressure.  The risk of transmission of Coronavirus is too high for the group of people we support.
We have redesigned our services to offer support to those who need us. Counselling, information and advice on claiming benefits and how to exercise safely are all available on the phone or via video calls.
All support services in Okehampton, Tiverton and Honiton have also ceased but chemotherapy treatment continues in Okehampton and Honiton at the moment.
We are reviewing arrangements on a regular basis.
FORCE Cancer Charity would like to thank everyone for their understanding at this difficult time.
