Crediton Crunch runners raise terrific total
Runners taking part in this year’s Crediton Crunch have exceeded expectation, raising £1,940 for FORCE.
The annual 10k race is organised by the Crediton Running Network and this year’s event saw 190 people complete the picturesque course, which passes through the scenic grounds of Shobrooke Park.
Amanda Piper, product change manager at event sponsors Ernest Jackson, said: “Thank you to all the participants who took part and to those who came back again to try and beat their personal bests. It was a terrific atmosphere and we’re thrilled to have been able to raise such a fantastic sum for a thoroughly deserving charity.”
The total amount raised includes sponsorship, donations and a contribution from Mondel?z International as part of the company’s Cashmatch initiative.
Joanne Zillwood, chair of Crediton Running Network, said: “As a club we are passionate about our local community and supporting local charities and we are proud to raise funds for FORCE this year.”
Sue Brown, volunteer fundraiser for Crediton Friends of FORCE, added: “We are so grateful to everyone who took part in the race. This is a fantastic amount to receive, which will help us continue to provide the best possible treatment and professional support to patients and their loved ones.”
The Crediton Crunch began in 2009 as part of the Crediton Festival and became a popular event, attracting runners of all abilities from far afield.
