Join us on Sunday 13th October at Southernhay United Reformed Church, 7:30pm for an evening of ‘Music from the Movies’ from the Stan Hacking Concert band.
Stan Hacking Concert Band are a local community band of enthusiastic amateur and semi-professional musicians who perform concerts in and around the Exeter area.
Their repertoire includes a wide variety of music styles including military marches, overtures, musicals, movie themes, world music and contemporary compositions.
The Band was founded primarily to raise money for charity and as a result of regular concerts over the years has raised over £345,000 for various good causes (usually local charities, or a national charity with a local connection).
This evening is part of the Lord Mayor of Exeter’s programme of events in support of FORCE, his chosen charity of his second year in office. Read more about how this event will support FORCE below.

This evening is part of the Lord Mayor of Exeter’s programme of events in support of FORCE, his chosen charity of his second year in office. Cllr Kevin Mitchell has chosen to support our Let’s Face Cancer Together campaign to help people living with incurable cancer. Your support will allow FORCE to reach a patient group for whom there is very little dedicated support available. We run a regular support and education group as well as retreat days for people to come together and be with others who understand what they’re going through.
Cllr Mitchell is a clinical nurse specialist in cancer care at the RD&E and is uniquely placed to appreciate the work our charity does to support his patients.
He is particularly excited about raising awareness of the work FORCE is doing for cancer patients living with an uncertain future and to making that the focal point of his fundraising.
“It’s great to have a different focus for this year. Individuals with incurable cancer have very distinct needs so promoting the work FORCE is doing to support them even further is of vital importance,” he said.
