Walk to work and support FORCE
FORCE has launched Walk to Work Week – a campaign to get us all out of the car and off the buses and trains for at least one day later this month.
It will run between Monday April 25 and Sunday May 1 and FORCE Head of Fundraising Sarah Daniels will be putting her best foot forward on Day One by walking from her home in Exmouth to our Support and Information Centre in the grounds of the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital
Sarah (pictured) said: “Anybody can enter. No need to sign up – simply ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your walk that day or week or donate your petrol money or parking charge to FORCE.”
People taking part are encouraged share their walking pictures and stories on the FORCE Facebook site – www.facebook.com/FORCEcancercharity – or Twitter – @forceCancer
If walking the whole way to and from work isn’t possible, why not park a little further away than usual or get off the bus one or two stops sooner.
Getting involved is a winner all round not only will you be helping FORCE raise the £1.2million we need to find every year to maintain all the face to face services we provides for free but walking is proven to improve your health and happiness.
And you don’t have to be working to take part. FORCE would love to hear from anyone raising money by strolling to the shops, dawdling with the dog, perambulating to the pictures, bimbling to the bank or trotting off to town.
So why not put your feet to work for FORCE.
You can send sponsorship and donations to FORCE Cancer Charity, Corner House, Barrack Road, Exeter EX2 5DW, donate online or by texting FORC16 followed by the amount to 70070.
