FORCE Cancer Charity’s Great Devon Breakfast returns in March to raise vital funds.

We are calling on families, groups of friends, community organisations and businesses to get behind the campaign.

“We’d love you to get together with family, friends or colleagues next month to have breakfast in aid of FORCE and support people in your community dealing with a cancer diagnosis,” said FORCE Community Fundraiser Naomi Cole.

You can:

  • do it any time in March
  • wherever works for you
  • tuck into a full English or continental breakfast, coffee and croissants, burritos or bagels, waffles or Weetabix, porridge or pancakes – the choice is yours!

Join in

There are lots of ways to join in.

Individuals are encouraged to host brekkie for friends and ask them to make a donation to FORCE.

There are plenty of ideas for café and restaurant owners.

You could:

  • put on a breakfast fundraising event where the profit goes to FORCE
  • give a percentage of breakfast sales or of sales of a particular dish/coffee to FORCE during March or on a specific day
  • run a raffle for FORCE and donate the proceeds
  • give a voucher for breakfast to FORCE to be raffled off between February and March.

Simple

It couldn’t be simpler for businesses, schools, sports clubs and community groups, as Naomi explains.

“Have bacon baps and a cuppa as part of an event or organise a sit down meal, inviting the local community.

“You can have it where you work, in a local hall or even at home. Be as creative as you want!

“To make it a foodie fundraiser, you can ask for donations or charge per breakfast.

“And why not organise a raffle with a breakfast-themed prize.”

Ideas

If you don’t have time to plan a breakfast but still want to be involved, why not donate the price of your daily coffee or breakfast to FORCE in the month of March.

The FORCE fundraising team can help with ideas, promotional materials and support.

Posters and flyers are also available at the FORCE Support and Information Centre on Barrack Road or the FORCE Shop at 73 Fore St, Heavitree.

However you chose to get involved, you will be doing your bit for cancer patients and their families in our community by helping to raise funds for FORCE’s mission to offer free support to anyone locally affected by the disease.
