Sue all set for London Marathon challenge

Our Outreach Co-ordinator Sue Phillips is running this year’s London Marathon to raise money for FORCE.

Mum-of-two Sue from Honiton will take on the 26.2-mile run on April 24.

Sue, who battled skin cancer after she was diagnosed three years ago and is now in remission, has wanted to take part in one of the world’s great sporting events for FORCE since she first started running in 2001.

She had been applying for the run for the last five years before she was accepted for this year’s marathon.

“I feel quite privileged and very excited”, said Sue.

“I hope I can do everyone proud. Even though I work for FORCE, I still wanted to raise money for them.

“This is about seeing these cancer patients come through and knowing the money I raise can support them in their journey.

“If we can help these people and give them a more positive journey, a good job is being done.”

On the day of her run, Sue will also remember her brother Stephen, who died from cancer when she was 15

This isn’t the first fundraising venture Sue has taken on. She has raised thousands of pounds for FORCE from two charity balls with another one planned for later this year.
