FORCE plans virtual cancer support group
At FORCE we know how important it is to stay connected with others, so we are looking to launch a virtual cancer support group.
It will offer the chance to share experiences, feel less isolated and gain tips and advice on how to cope with cancer.
The group will run via the free Zoom online video conference, meeting and chat platform.
You can install it on your desktop computer, tablet or mobile.
If you would like to find out more or to register your interest in joining the group please contact support@forcecancercharity.co.uk by next Friday, May 8.
Helping
We may not be able to see people affected by cancer face to face at our centres in Exeter, Okehampton, Tiverton and Honiton but we can still help.
We are doing everything we can to maintain vital contact and have embraced technology to ensure we stay in touch.
All our counselling appointments are taking place via phone and video calls and have made some short films to offer useful advice.
Our information nurses are at the end of a phone to speak to patients, carers and family members, helping them with their concerns and the same goes for our benefits advice service.
Our specialist oncology physiotherapist, Louise Ballagher, is speaking to patients about what exercise they can do in their own homes
Call
The nurses we fund at the RD&E are still able to deliver vital chemotherapy in Honiton and Okehampton weekly and will continue to do so as long as staffing levels permit.
And check out our news feed and social media channels for useful ideas and links to all sorts of online resources.
Don’t forget, if you are affected by cancer and need support, FORCE is here for you. The numbers to call are:
