The Rackenford Rascals are a brass septet who have been building a reputation and a following over the last few years around mid Devon. They were born out of the first lifting of restrictions after the Covid pandemic when a group of six musicians could finally meet all, be it only outdoors! The group met in the back garden of one of their members in Rackenford and as having fun through music was the aim, the group’s name of ‘Rackenford Rascals’ was born. They chose to wear bright rainbow colours as a nod to the rainbow symbol of hope for the NHS during those terrible times. The colourful waistcoats they wear are fully reversible to reveal the slightly more serious side of this band.
The musical program is always aimed at the audience they are expecting. They can and do play serious classical pieces but mostly they like to play light and fun pieces of popular music from all eras.
