Spooktacular event at FORCE shop
The FORCE Cancer Charity shop in Exeter is all set for a spooktacular opening on Halloween.
The popular Heavitree hub for bargain hunters closed in August for essential repairs and refurbishment.
One section re-opened on October 2 and another area will be back in business on Saturday October 31 with staff in fancy dress, hundreds of clothing items on sale for £1 and a bake sale.
“There’ll be plenty of treats and no tricks,” said shop manager Anna Heard. “We’re looking forward to gradually opening the remainder of the shop in the first week of November as carpet fitting progresses and we restock.”
Contractors have carried out renovations including new roofing, some structural work, total rewiring and redecoration.
The main two front areas of the shop, entrance with till point and clothes area will re-open on Saturday.
“The children’s room, bric-a-brac corridor, linens room and yard will be ready to welcome customers the following week although we will still be selling a selection of everything in the mini version of shop. Furniture will be back!” said Anna.
We also plan to start accepting and processing donations in shop area again from October 31. While space has been limited, supporters have been dropping off items at a storage unit just along the road at 51 Fore Street, Heavitree, behind the former NatWest Bank. That is open from Monday to Saturday between 9:30am and 4:30pm. The FORCE van continues making collections and those can be arranged by calling 01392 271652.
