FORCE offers Great Wall of China trek

FORCE Cancer Charity is offering an overseas fundraising challenge – trekking along Great Wall of China – for the first time next year as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations.
FORCE is partnering with Global Adventure Challenges, a British company that specialises in charity expeditions, to present this chance of a lifetime opportunity.
The five-day, 35-kilometre trek will take place in October 2027.
It costs £349 to register with a minimum fundraising expectation of £3,250.
The Great Wall of China is one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Stretching for 6,000km, it zig-zags its way across China, snaking across mountains and through valleys.
Heavenly
Our challenge takes you over watch towers and mountains and through historic battlement stations that are well off the tourist trail.
The trekking is hard, due to the number of steps up and down each day, including the ascent of the iconic Heavenly Ladder. But it is described as an unforgettable experience.
FORCE will be holding an information evening on June 30 2026 at 6.30pm.
It will be via Microsoft Teams, a free video calling service, and offers a great opportunity to learn more about this trek. For a link to dial in, email Ceri Bastyan from the FORCE fundraising team on ceri.bastyan@forcecancercharity.co.uk.
The 10-day adventure starts with a flight from London to Beijing on October 9 2027.

Meaningful
“I am beyond excited to offer this opportunity to our valued supporters on our first ever overseas trek in 2027! This will be part of our 40th anniversary celebrations,” said Ceri.
“If you want to elevate your fundraising and trek for something meaningful then please get in touch. If climbing lots of steps for fun is not your thing, then pass this opportunity on to friends and family – spread the word far and wide”.
FORCE is a local charity that is not part of the NHS and receives no Government funding.
We need to raise nearly £2 million every year to support thousands of people in Devon affected by cancer.
Essential
The charity relies on the generosity of the communities we serve to maintain all the free services we provide at our main centre in Exeter and community hospitals and health centres in Okehampton, Tiverton, Ottery St Mary and Cullompton.
Donations, legacies and fundraising – from community events to personal challenges like the Great Wall of China trek – are essential to our survival.
