Victor’s birthday thank you to FORCE
Huge thanks to Victor Hulbert for choosing to support FORCE by asking for donations to our charity in lieu of birthday presents this year.
His friends donated £200 via a Facebook fundraiser and he almost doubled the total at an event in his home village near Okehampton.
Victor wanted to thank FORCE for supporting his family when wife Luisa was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
It was rather a shock to the system,” admits Victor. “For the past four years she has been my carer as I had to take early retirement due to long Covid.
“Suddenly the roles were reversed and that was a challenge, especially with the frequent trips from near Okehampton to the RD&E. FORCE played a significant part in providing advice and a place to rest during treatments.

“The staff proved to be very caring and helpful while the complementary therapies helped us relax. Luisa found the post-op physio group particularly helpful. We had both agreed that when she was recovered, we would do some fundraising, both as a thank you and to help provide support to others.
“We are still on a journey but are delighted to be able to start some fundraising already. I was delighted to hit my £200 goal with that plus the £150 I raised selling some pre- loved items in the village. We are very grateful for the superb care and support you have provided Luisa with while she is going through her treatment. Thank you for everything.”
