Blooming marvellous garden event
Who needs the Chelsea Flower Show when FORCE supporters have marvellous gardens of their own to share right here in Devon!
An open garden at Carpenter’s Cottage in Knowle near Crediton attracted around 130 people and raised an amazing £756 for FORCE.
The event was held at the home of Joan Tolley, who allowed visitors to explore nearly an acre of garden in glorious sunshine plus there was a plant stall, raffle and refreshments.
Sheila Ralph, chairperson of the Crediton Friends of FORCE group, said: “Joan has taken part in the National Garden Scheme in the past but this year she agreed to open her garden for FORCE. It meant she didn’t have quite as much to organise herself and so she was able to enjoy talking to people about her garden and her beautiful plants. The Committee would like to thank Mrs Tolley for her kindness in opening her garden for us, the ladies of Knowle Church, who kindly provided the refreshments, and of course all the people who came along and enjoyed the garden on what was a lovely afternoon.”
