Taking care of yourself

April 14, 2020

FORCE Cancer Charity Oncology Support Specialist Stella King offers some useful advice on taking care of yourself during the Coronavirus pandemic.

COVID-19 is impacting all our lives and for cancer patients with changed treatments plans or cancelled operations, their distress and anxiety is significant.

FORCE has redesigned its services to offer ongoing support to cancer patients and their families with all our counselling appointments via phone and video calls.

The same goes for our benefits advice service.

Please share this message with anyone you know who may need our support. We can’t support people face-to-face but we can still help them one-to-one.

Our information nurses are at the end of a phone to speak to patients, carers and family members to help them with their concerns during these fast-changing times.

The numbers you need are:

01392 406151 to speak to FORCE’s cancer nurses and information team

01392 406168 or 406169 to get in touch with the support specialist offering psychological and emotional support.

Don’t hang up if no-one answers straight away. They might be busy talking to someone else. Leave a message and someone from the charity WILL get back to you.

FORCE is also updating its website with useful information as regularly as possible so check in when you can at www.forcecancercharity.co.uk
