The next FORCE Cancer Charity Lingerie and Swimwear Fayre for breast cancer patients will be held on Thursday November 12.
Our charity hosts two of these events each year, offering women who have had surgery the opportunity to meet suppliers, try things on and get one-to-one advice from retail experts at the FORCE Support and Information Centre.
Representatives from shops in Devon as well as a leading mail order and online company will be there, giving women an exclusive chance to see first-hand a large selection of underwear and swimwear.
The Exeter branch of Marks and Spencer will be presenting a range of lingerie and will also be providing refreshments.
Austins from Newton Abbot and Banburys from Tiverton are again supporting the event along with Nicola Jane, the UK’s foremost mastectomy wear specialists.
The fayre runs from 5-8pm and also offers a great chance to meet other women who share a unique level of understanding and can offer tips, help and advice on what works when you experience a change of body image. Information on prosthetics is also available.
“The evenings are very popular,” said FORCE Oncology Support Specialist Emma Ellis. “The suppliers bring an excellent range of items for people to browse. What is especially lovely is to see a group of women chatting together over coffee, offering each other support and advice. It makes the whole event worthwhile.”
There are also free pamper sessions with a 20-minute hand or foot massage available. These must be booked in advance but fittings and measurements are on a first come, first served basis.
Places are limited. For more information or to book a ticket, please contact Emma Ellis on 01392 403051.
