FORCE Cancer Charity has teamed up with local solicitors to launch its first Make A Will Fortnight campaign.
For two weeks in September Ford Simey, Gilbert Stephens, Kitsons and Tozers – solicitors based in offices across Exeter, East and Mid Devon – will waive their simple will-making fee in return for a donation to FORCE.
The campaign runs from September 11-26 but you can book an appointment now.
During your meeting you can discuss with the solicitor what you would like in your will. Should you need specialist advice your solicitor will quote a separate price for any additional work.
The suggested donations are £150 for a single will and £200 for a mirrored will. The donation will be made at the solicitor’s office at the time of the appointment and will go directly to the charity.
“By using this will service we must stress that there is no expectation for you to feel obliged to leave a gift in your will to FORCE, said Sarah Daniels, the Exeter-based charity’s Head of Income Generation.
“However, those who have expressed a wish to do so know that a gift to FORCE allows us to plan long-term, future projects which will be of benefit to all those affected by cancer in our community.
“These projects could, for example, relate to supporting research, purchasing equipment, developing outreach programmes across Devon and expanding the Support Centre Services in Exeter.
“Every bequest that FORCE receives is very precious and is very much a gift of hope for the future.”
