Getting more information about cancer

A cancer diagnosis may mean having to deal with a lot of questions and concerns which can sometimes be bewildering and frightening. Information nurses are available to help you and your family with advice and information at any stage of the cancer diagnosis.

Who will I see?

You will meet one of our FORCE Cancer Support Team. They have many years of experience in cancer care and are on hand at our outreach centres. You can drop in to see a member of our team at Okehampton on Wednesdays (10am-4pm) and Tiverton on Thursdays (11am-5pm)

What is available?

FORCE has a well-stocked library which patients, carers and relatives are invited to access. It offers:
• Information on cancer and its treatment
• Helpful articles
• Books to borrow
• DVDs
• Booklets
• Guided internet access

Some of these resources are available at our outreach centres but if there is something particular you would like or need, please let us know and we will aim to provide it on our next visit.
Our Cancer Support Team always aim to ensure that any information you are given is relevant to your needs.
