Other ways to donate to FORCE

Not everyone is able to take part in one of our events or set up a regular donation to FORCE so we thought it very important to let you know about the other ways you can support us. These range from finding a shop or pub locally that might house a collection box or having one in your home to save your pennies. You could sell items on Ebay and donate a percentage of any money you make to FORCE. You could buy someone flowers through a scheme which donates money to FORCE. Perhaps you have some time and could volunteer at FORCE or perhaps you could donate goods to our charity shop…

On this page we have listed some important information about these other ways that you can donate something to FORCE.

Payroll giving

Payroll Giving (Give as you earn)

Payroll Giving represents a simple way to make regular tax free donations. It allows employees to donate to any UK registered charity of their choice directly from their salary. By making a regular contribution to FORCE through your payroll it offers us the security to plan ahead and invest in the future of FORCE.

It is simple and tax effective as donations are deducted before you pay tax.

How do I donate?

  • Check with your Payroll Department whether your company offers the scheme. Decide how much you wish to donate each time you are paid. Then every time you are paid, the money will be deducted and the agreed amount gets sent to us
  • Please notify us of the details of your payment either by email (forcefr@forcecancercharity.co.uk) or write to us at Corner House, Barrack Road, Exeter EX2 5DW

Ebay for charity

Ebay for charity

You can donate to FORCE when you sell on Ebay. Sellers can donate between 10% and 100% of each item sold to a registered charity. Paypal Giving fund will collect the donation from the seller, claim Gift Aid (if eligible) and pass the money to FORCE.

How do I donate?

FORCE is now able to receive donations via a text from your mobile phone. You can donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to FORCE by simply texting FORC16 followed by the amount to 70070. This service is available on any mobile network and we receive 100 per cent of every donation made this way. Within 24 hours you’ll receive confirmation by text to let you know the donation has been successful.

If you are under 16 years of age, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission before making a donation

What’s the cost of donating by text?

Every penny of your donation (including Gift Aid) goes to FORCE. You may however be charged for your text message, please refer to your network operator’s standard rates.

Can I add Gift Aid, my name and a message to a text donation?

Yep, once you’ve sent your text, Justtextgiving will reply to confirm that they have received it. They will also include a link to an online form. If you have a smartphone, click on the link to claim Gift Aid and/or leave a message. Alternatively, you can copy the link into a web browser on your PC/laptop or tablet and fill the form in there.

How can I get a refund for a text donation?

As text donations are charged to your mobile phone bill or taken from your pay as you go credit, you’ll need to contact your mobile phone provider directly to arrange a refund.
